Lagardère Travel Retail - Management

Following the company’s appointment as joint venture partner to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Lagardère Travel Retail is proud to announce the official launch of its operations, which went live during the night of April 30th to May 1st. Bruno Gouisset, former Executive Vice-President Merchant at Lagardère Travel Retail and Deputy CEO of Extime Duty Free, has been appointed CEO of the joint venture.

This milestone marks the beginning of a collaboration built on mutual trust and a shared ambition to deliver world-class retail experiences at Europe’s fourth-largest aviation hub. Now operational, this partnership aims to set a new benchmark for airport retail.

As part of this transformation, the complete refurbishment of the stores will rethink the commercial offer, providing brands with greater opportunities for visibility and expression within the terminals, while delivering enhanced value for customers through an engaging and seamless shopping experience.

Lagardère Travel Retail’s first priority during the takeover was to ensure business continuity and a smooth transition for all stakeholders. With operations now running, the project’s journey continues with the opening later this year of the innovative “Cloud Store”, an entirely reimagined retail space in Lounge 1, followed by new retail spaces in Lounges 2 and 3, set to open in 2026 and 2027. From the outset, the new stores will embody the partners’ commitment to delivering a revitalised Duty Free offer, with competitive pricing and a seamless customer experience.

As the new joint venture begins operations at Schiphol, Lagardère Travel Retail is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruno Gouisset as CEO of both the venture and Lagardère Travel Retail Netherlands. With extensive experience and a proven leadership track record as former Executive Vice President Merchant and Deputy CEO of Extime Duty Free, Bruno brings the perfect blend of strategic vision and operational excellence to the new joint venture. His expertise in brand strategy and range development will be key in curating a retail experience that appeals to passengers while delivering results.

Bruno Gouisset said: “I am excited and honoured to take the helm of this project, which is the result of a shared vision with our partners at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and a lot of hard work by our dedicated team. All stakeholders are fully committed to ensuring its success, and we are firmly convinced of the strategic relevance and potential this partnership represents for both Lagardère Travel Retail and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. True to our strategy of local empowerment, we have deployed strong, locally based teams that combine global expertise with a deep understanding of the Dutch market.”

Tim de Bie, Director Commercial Terminal at Royal Schiphol Group added “By combining Lagardère Travel Retail's expertise with our vision for the future of Schiphol, we are able to offer travelers a shopping experience that is both high-quality and competitively priced. This collaboration takes the passenger experience to the next level by creating an offering that aims to exceed travelers' expectations.”.
